The Patriotic Youth Forum is a platform created by various Tescon leaders and youth activists of the NPP across the country. Its core objective is to shape opinions and ensure that decisions from the party are based on accurate research and analytical findings.

It is trite knowledge that the choice of General Secretary is crucial so far as the electoral fortunes of any political party is concerned. In this regard, we have analysed and scrutinized the abilities and capacities of the four candidates vying for the General Secretary position and have come to a firm conclusion that looking at the rudiments that will play out in the 2016 general elections, Lawyer Yaw Buaben Asamoa presents the SAFEST option for the party in our quest to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress. Our decision is premised on 3(THREE) main findings. Continue reading

Let’s Resource our Party for Victory 2016 – Kwabena Agyepong

The former Presidential Press Secretary and Spokesperson to President Kufour, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has called on party faithful to remain resolute and steadfast and deliver the party with capable and dedicated executives with pure motives of ensuring a resounding victory for the NPP in 2016.

Kwabena Agyepong, who is aspiring to be General Secretary of the NPP, assured delegates and party faithful of his readiness to work effectively and closely with them when elected, to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2016 elections. Continue reading

Lawyer Yaw Buaben Asamoa, who political pundits have tipped to become the next general secretary of the New Patriotic Party, picked the number 3 position at the balloting conducted earlier today by the Party ahead of its national executive elections in April.

Having set out to correct the ills that denied the Party of an electoral victory in the last general election, many believe that it is no fluke that the very down-to-earth lawyer picked the no. 3 position, which is the same position the 2012 Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, enjoyed in the 2012 general election.

According to members of the Party, Buaben Asamoa’s message of unity is aptly in consonance with the Biblical institution of ‘Trinity’, which depicts oneness between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Interacting with some Party sympathisers after the balloting, Lawyer Buaben Asamoa, who many refer to as YB, shared the sentiments of the people. A leading candidate in the race for general secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Lawyer Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has told delegates that he is selling a dream of victory. Speaking to Ekow Annan on Live FM’s News Watch programme, Mr. Buaben Asamoa said he had the privilege of interacting with delegates across the country and from what they had told him, it is clear that they want to win power.

He stated that delegates were aware of what was going on in the country, particularly the fact that the Cedi is on an emergency bed. He explained that according to the delegates it is only the NPP that can govern the country and provide better living conditions for the citizens because the NPP had done it before under the Kufuor administration. He added that delegates want to win power and not only win power but win power and govern this country well.

Mr. Buaben Asamoa who has enjoyed a lot of support amongst delegates in the Western, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and recently Eastern Region, is tipped to be the next general secretary of the NPP. Unlike his contenders, Mr. Buaben Asamoa is perceived as the unifier that the Party needs in 2016. Delegates are of the view that Mr. Buaben Asamoa is the only contender who does not belong to any of the perceived factions within the Party and therefore when given the nod, he will be able to bring both sides to the table to work together for victory in 2016. Furthermore, Mr. Buaben Asamoa has demonstrated through his hard work in the 2012 campaign that he is more that ready to work with any person in the Party. These and many others are Mr. Buaben Asamoa’s strengths as the race tightens.

When asked how he intends to ensure that the Party wins the 2016 general elections, Mr. Buaben Asamoa stated Continue reading

Who Heads The NPP National Secretariat?

Most Ghanaians agree that the 2016 general elections will be one of the toughest the NPP will ever face. Dare I say, even tougher than 2000. Ghanaians are wailing for change – change to move their country in the right direction. Come March 1st, 2014, members of the New Patriotic Party who are contesting for National Executive positions will know their fates. In the words of Justice Atuguba “they will know their real size”.

The contest for other positions may be fierce but what I find most fascinating and intriguing is the race for General Secretary. Among those vying for the GS position is Mr. Kwabena Agyepong, who is not new to Party members, having served diligently as the Press Secretary to the former president, H.E. J.A. Kufuor.

Kwabena’s accolades precede him. He is competing though against really tougher opposition from the incumbent, Kwabena Owusu Afriyie (aka Sir John), the legal brain and excellent communicator, Yaw Buaben Asamoah, and the evergreen Captain Nkrabeah Effah-Darteh. Continue reading
